In-Place Waste Service

The City offers "in-place" service for an additional fee (view current rates and fees at SantaBarbaraCA.gov/TrashRates). In-place service entails MarBorg Industries, the City's franchise waste hauler, staff retrieving your trash, recycling, and yard waste containers from their storage location on your property rather than you taking them to the curb.

Fee Waiver Available

The City waives the fee for in-place service for qualifying Small Residential customers who are unable to roll their carts to the curb due to age or disability and provide written representation that no other person in the household can roll the carts to the curb. 

To qualify for the waiver, customers must:

  • Be 80 years of age or older, or;
  • Have handicapped status recognized by the DMV, or;
  • Provide a letter from their doctor attesting to disability. 

To apply for the waiver, complete MarBorg's Fee Waiver Application and follow included instructions for submittal.
