The City of Santa Barbara and its bike share program operator, BCycle, are expanding the City's bike share program by installing 25 new stations and 60 e-bikes. This project will enhance accessibility in low-income areas and promote biking as a sustainable transportation option. 

Installation is expected to take place in May 2026.

Project Funding

The City of Santa Barbara's BCycle for All Expansion is part of California Climate Investments, a statewide initiative that puts billions of Cap-and-Invest dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy, and improving public health and the environment - particularly in disadvantaged communities, and California Energy Commission’s Clean Transportation Program, which is investing more than $1 billion to accelerate the deployment of zero-emission transportation infrastructure and support in-state manufacturing and workforce training and development.
