SBCE's Residential EV Program is back!

Beginning Tuesday, July 7, the Residential EV Program is accepting new applications. Vehicles purchased on or after July 1, 2026 qualify for our generous incentives.

Santa Barbara Clean Energy's Residential EV Program is designed to make switching to electric transportation easier and more affordable! 

SBCE customers can apply for incentives for the purchase of a Level 2 EV Charger and Associated Electric Work. Income-qualified customers can also apply for incentives when purchasing or leasing a new or used Electric Vehicle (EV)

Incentive Levels

SBCE offers base and income-qualified incentives. To qualify for an income-qualified incentive, applicants must either be CARE/FERA customers or have a household income less than 80% Area Median Income.

Check Eligibility

Review your most recent electric bill to verify “Santa Barbara Clean Energy Generation Charges” are included on the statement. If this is present on your bill, you are a SBCE customer and are eligible for the program.

While we neither maintain lists of qualified contractors nor recommend individual contractors, you can view lists of contractors who have installed electrification technologies for SBCE customers below, along with installation costs for those projects.

Purchase Your EV, Level 2 Charger, or Complete Your "Associated Electrical Work"

Purchase or lease your EV, install your charger, and/or completed your electrical work BEFORE you apply for incentives.

Submit Your Application

Due to high participation, this program has run out of funds and is now closed. A new EV program is anticipated to launch in July 2026.

Receive Your Incentive!

SBCE will process your application and notify you of your application status. Once your application is approved, your incentive check will be mailed to you.
