Properties with three (3) or more units within Santa Barbara City limits that receive energy from SBCE qualify for this program. Check your property’s energy bill before applying.
Yes. Your property must have been receiving energy from SoCal Edison for at least one year prior to opting back in. Re-enrolled customers must continue to receive SBCE’s generation service at the location where the upgrades will be installed for a minimum of five (5) years after the date of installation.
If an applicant site ceases to receive SBCE’s generation service at the location where the upgrades are installed within five (5) years after installation, the applicant must return the awarded funds to SBCE.
Please communicate your project timeline with SBCE. Our staff will determine whether a flexible timeline can be accommodated.
Where applicable, installations must comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and relevant accessibility requirements as enforced by City of Santa Barbara.
Incentive reservations are valid for 270 days for multifamily properties and up to 365 days for affordable housing multifamily properties. Electric vehicle charging infrastructure installations that have not been completed within that timeframe may no longer be eligible for an incentive.
