Give Used Textiles a Second Life

Authored on
Body

Instead of throwing away clothing, shoes, and other textiles, help keep them out of the landfill. The Sustainability & Resilience Department and MarBorg Industries remind you that clean, lightly used textiles can be dropped off for free at MarBorg’s Goleta Recycling Center at 20 David Love Place in Goleta.

Accepted items include clothing, hats, gloves, scarves, shoes, matching pairs of socks, towels, sheets, pillowcases, blankets, curtains, fabric scraps (minimum size of 8.5" x 11"), backpacks, purses, and luggage in good, working condition.

Collected textiles will be transported to Homeboy Threads in Los Angeles, where they will be sorted and processed for donation, resale, or recycling, giving them a second life and reducing waste.

For more information about the Textile Recovery Drop-off Program, view the Textile Drop-Off Flyer or visit MarBorg.com.
