Sign Up for "Grade & Grab!" Volunteer Cleanup on Saturday, September 26
Join the Sustainability & Resilience Department for a "Grade & Grab!" volunteer cleanup on Saturday, September 26 from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Volunteers will meet at our office at 801 Garden Street for a brief training on how to assess and grade trash levels on City blocks. Participants will then work in teams to survey areas and collect litter in the surrounding neighborhood. Information gathered will help the City better understand where trash accumulates and support efforts to prevent litter from reaching our storm drains, creeks, and the ocean.
Teams will be organized to ensure each group has a smartphone user to submit survey information. Participants should be prepared to walk around the City for up to two hours - please wear comfortable shoes, bring a water bottle, and consider sun protection. Light breakfast snacks and a bagged lunch will be provided.
