Dune Coffee Pilot Program
The Clean Community Division is partnering with Dune Coffee Roasters to reduce single-use coffee cup waste in the City of Santa Barbara!
From June 4 through August 31, customers at Dune Coffee locations in the City of Santa Barbara will enjoy special incentives for choosing reusable or “for here” cups instead of disposable cups.
Through this limited-time partnership, Dune customers can:
- Get $1 off their drink when they bring their own reusable cup or choose to enjoy their beverage “for here.”
- Receive a GaeaStar clay reusable cup - for no charge - if they’re on the go and don’t have a reusable option with them.
- Participate in weekly $50 gift card giveaways when they post a pic of their reusable cup on FaceBook or Instagram and tag @SustainablySB and @DuneCoffee!
This initiative aims to highlight the environmental cost of single-use coffee cups and encourage more sustainable habits in the community.
Each year, over 80 billion disposable cups are used in the U.S. alone, requiring an estimated 6.5 million trees for production. The majority of paper cups are lined with plastic, making them difficult to recycle and among the highest carbon-emitting disposable cup options.
With this promotion, the City and Dune are making it easier and more rewarding than ever to build sustainable habits.
