MarBorg Holiday Service Delays

Due to the Christmas and New Year's Day holidays, there will be a one-day service delay following each holiday. If your regularly scheduled service day is Wednesday, MarBorg will service your home or business on Thursday, and so on through Saturday. (Regularly scheduled service will take place Monday and Tuesday, December 23 and 24 as well as Monday and Tuesday, December 30 and 31.)

Please call MarBorg at (805) 963-1852 or visit MarBorg.com for questions about your specific pickup schedule. The regular pickup schedule will resume Monday, January 6, 2025.

Extra Waste Pickups

We're making it easy to get rid of all the extra stuff left after meals are eaten, presents are opened, and trees are taken down. From December 26 through January 6, MarBorg will collect extra items from all City residential customers at no extra charge.

Customers can put out up to 95 gallons of extra trash (brown bin), recyclables (blue bin), or yard waste (green bin). Leave extra bags or bundles at your normal pickup location, no bulky waste allowed. If there are excessive amounts of extra waste, please call MarBorg at (805) 963-1852 to accommodate the special pickup.

Christmas Tree Pickup

MarBorg will also take your Christmas tree!

  • Strip the tree of ornaments, garlands, and tinsel. MarBorg does not take flocked trees (unless you can remove the flocking).
  • Remove the tree stand.
  • Set the whole tree out with your waste.
  • If the tree is taller than 6 feet, please cut it in half.

Holiday Waste Tips - Only Some Items are Recyclable!
  • Colored wrapping paper can be recycled, but any paper with plastic, glitter, or metallic material should be thrown in the trash.
  • All plastic beverage and household bottles are recyclable.
  • All metal materials can be recycled: soda cans, tin cans, etc.
  • Break down cardboard boxes before placing in your blue recycling bin.
  • All bows and ribbon should be reused or thrown in the trash.
  • All plastic packaging goes in the trash.
  • All film plastic goes in the trash: plastic bags, packaging wrap, bubble wrap, snack bags, chip bags, plastic food wrap, etc.
  • Batteries are hazardous and cannot go in the blue recycling bin. Batteries can be dropped off at a local recycling center, or small household batteries can be placed in a clear zip top bag and placed on top of your blue recycling bin (not inside).
  • Electronics are hazardous and cannot go in the blue recycling bin. They can be dropped off for free at MarBorg or you can call MarBorg at (805) 963-1852 to schedule a free bulky item pickup.
