Street Tree with Gator bag

Want more trees in your neighborhood?

Do you live on the Westside and have space for a street tree in the parkway in front of your home or building? If you’re willing to help care for young trees by watering them as they get established, we’d love to partner with you.

Residents with grass or open soil between the sidewalk and street may qualify to receive free street trees planted by the City—bringing more shade, beauty, and greenery to the neighborhood for years to come.

How it works:

1
Sign up online

Verify that you live in the area accepting applications and apply on our website.

2
Sit back and relax as we take care of planting

If you qualify and there is space for a tree, we will send out our team to plant a tree in your parkway. We follow the City’s Street Tree Designation List to determine what species works with your street.

3
Water and care for your trees once they are planted

Once your tree is planted, it will need water for the first 2 years while its roots grow into the ground. As a Tree Steward, you will receive 2 Tree Care Stipends over the course of 2 years. Taking care of the tree now makes a big difference for its future!
