The City has increased energy efficiency and decreased expenditures through numerous improvement projects. The energy team is continuously looking for opportunities to lower energy use and cost by replacing outdated and inefficient technologies with new ones.
Since 2008, the City has prioritized energy efficiency at its facilities. These projects have saved over five million kilowatt hours of electricity and $742,000 in annual energy costs! Examples of energy efficiency projects include upgrades to HVAC equipment, new lighting fixtures, building automation controls and behavioral changes.
