Walking, biking, and rolling to work, school, and other destinations can help reduce climate impacts from greenhouse gas emissions. In Santa Barbara, transportation-related emissions are the single largest source of greenhouse gas emissions – so it makes a difference when you choose a mode of active transportation to get around.

Electric Bikes

BCycle Bike Share Program

The City of Santa Barbara works with BCycle to deliver an affordable and accessible public bike share system with the potential to reduce traffic congestion, parking demand, and support our City’s sustainability efforts. This program provides a citywide fleet of electric-assist bikes (e-bikes) available for rent in the public right of way. Designed with short trips in mind, bike sharing is great for those trips that are too far to walk, but too close to drive.
