because SBCE prioritizes local energy resiliency.
Customers that generate their own clean energy may receive credits on their electricity bills for any additional energy they create but do not use on site, this credit program is called net metering.
If you already are a net metering customer you are automatically enrolled in the Santa Barbara Clean Energy Resilient program and will earn more money for the power that you generate!
Santa Barbara Clean Energy prioritizes clean energy and local resilience, which is why SBCE customers earn DOUBLE for the extra energy they generate ($0.0663 per kWh compared to SCE’s $0.02-$0.03 per kWh.)
